Переможці та призери України у змаганнях зі спортивних єдиноборств на Іграх Олімпіад (1992−2016 рр.)

У статті розкрито досягнення спортсменів України в змаганнях зі спортивних єдиноборств на Іграх Олімпіад
за часів незалежності (1992−2016 рр.).
Встановлено, що загалом у спортивних єдиноборствах представниками України було здобуто 43 нагороди. Серед них у боксі нашими спортсменами за 1992−2016 рр здобуто 15 нагород, боротьбі вільній – 10 нагород, боротьбі
греко-римській – 6 нагород, дзюдо – 3 нагороди, фехтуванні − 9 нагород.
Найбільшу кількість нагород зі спортивних єдиноборств на Іграх Олімпіад до скарбнички збірної команди України
за період 1992−2016 рр. надали такі спртсмени: О. Харлан (4, фехтування на шаблях), В. Ломаченко (2, бокс), І. Мерлені-
Мельник (2, боротьба вільна), Е. Тадеєв (2 ,боротьба вільна), Р.Гонтюк (2, дзюдо). Усі інші спортсмени, які здобували
олімпійські медалі представляючи Україну на Іграх Олімпіад отримали по одній нагороді.

The contemporary
history of Ukrainian sport is determined by a comparatively short time frame (from 1991 to this day). During this period of time
Ukrainian athletes managed to represent our country on equal footing with other sportsmen in various competitions of the highest
level. The development of sports in this country is associated with our achievements in the Olympics. That is why it is worthwhile to
analyze the development of any particular kind of sport or any group of sports in view of Ukrainian athletes’ performance at the
Olympic Games. It gave us reason to propose for consideration a separate scientific problem of clarifying the prize winners, who
represented Ukraine in the combat sports competitions at the 1992 – 2016 Olympic Games.
The objective of the research was to reveal the achievements of Ukrainian athletes in the combat sports contests at the
1992−2016 Olympics – the period of Ukrainian independence.
A considerable part of scientific and popular science publications are dedicated to various sports achievements of Ukrainian
athletes at the Olympic Games. By means of additional scientific research, special analysis and synthesis of the publications one
could single out the information pertaining to this or that group of the Olympic events. From this standpoint we propose to continue
the study of the issue related to the achievements of Ukrainian combat sportsmen at the Olympics over the period from 1992 till
2016.
Ukrainian athletes won altogether 43 awards in combat sports for the period from 1992 to 2016, including 15 medals won by
our boxers, 10 awards gained by freestyle wrestlers, 6 medals – by Greco -Roman wrestlers, 3 – by judokas and 9 awards won by
fencers.
The largest number of the awards in combat sports at the Olympic Games during the period from 1992 till 2016 was added
to the moneybox of Ukrainian national team by the following athletes: O. Kharlan (4 awards in sabre fencing), V. Lomachenko (2
medals in boxing), I. Merleni-Melnyk (2 medals in freestyle wrestling), E. Tadeyev (2 medals in freestyle wrestling), R. Gontiuk (2
awards in Judo). All the other combat sportsmen, who gained awards representing Ukraine at the Olympics, won one medal each.
