Abstract
У статті подається загальна характеристика найбільш значимих агіографічних джерел, використаних Димитрієм Ростовським (Тупталом) при укладанні “Четьїв-Міней”. З’ясовуються причини звернення укладача як до праць православного, так і католицького походження, специфіка використання різнозмістового житійного матеріалу. Особлива увага зосереджена на науковому характері Книги житій святих, якого вони набули в результаті серйозної джерелознавчої роботи їх укладача.
The general characteristics of essential agiographic sources used by Dymytriy Rostovsky (Touptalo) while compiling the “Tchety-Miney” is given in the article. The autor defines the specification of diversing life material usage and the causes of the compiler’s appeal to the works of orthodox as well as the catholic origin. The particular attention is paid to the scientific character of the Saints’ Life Book as a result of a serious source research of its compiler.
